Not only has Deana written and recorded her share of contemporary gospel music, she also plays the oboe, flute, guitar and piano, has directed many church choirs and musical productions and earned several awards, including Milwaukee’s Civic Music award.

A Learned Approach

But more than writing songs or playing herself, Deana thrives on teaching others how to harmonize or learn a difficult score or new instrument. With degrees in both business and music education, Deana started out teaching beginning band as well as business typing and English at a Minnesota high school. Although her professional career evolved into more entrepreneurial roles—as a successful restaurant owner and later, as a partner in building up her husband’s law firm—Deana continued sharing her love of music with others and helping them develop their natural talents. Her thoughtful, compassionate approach has carried through successfully to her real estate career today.

When Deana isn’t working on a new song or helping her clients make sound investment decisions, she loves to travel anywhere new, especially with her husband and her daughters, Sarah, Rachael, Rebecca and Stephanie. Deana’s family shares her passion for music (both her husband and daughters sing or play instruments) and they often attend jazz, symphony or rock concerts as a family.
